June 13, 2008Jessica Simpson, the pop star, changed her lifestyle dramatically when she received her role as Daisy Duke in the Dukes Of Hazzard movie. She took this more than seriously and was determined to be in her best shape yet. But really good results require a lot of motivation and determination.
She immediately started a brand new exercise routine to specifically prepare for the part.
Her workout consisted of two hours of squats and lunges a day. She mentioned that she has indeed a "white-girl bootie," so she’s doing all those squats in order to lift it up a little bit. Wearing Daisy Duke’s signature shorts was also another important thing, and she had to work hard to achieve this.
Since the beginning, she envisioned this as a major goal, as something she had to do no matter what. She considered that it was best for her to know that she was working towards something, or else motivation would have been gone. She admitted that she would still be eating her fried food and taco bell if it wasn’t for the real motivation.
So, after she ate the last piece of a delicious chocolate cake, she tried to cut out sugar completely from her diet, except fruit of course. She ate as healthy as she could and tried to work out for two hours everyday. She also revealed that she used to be on the Atkins diet, which really messed her up, because the low-carb lifestyle was simply not suitable for her. Now she simply eats her favorite foods in moderation, and adds a lot of salad.
The biggest problem was with the sugar. She tried to stay away from it as much as she could, but it was never an easy task. She also tries not to skip her workout routine, no matter how late she finishes shooting on the set. Even if she gets to the gym at ten o’clock, she never skips the one hour treadmill.
